A Problem Solving Approach to Product Development

Many companies have identified problems with their Product Development Process. Generally, there are two major issues:

  1. Poor quality of delivery of the product and process to manufacturing.
  2. The time is too long to meet market needs.

The trend in the Lean community is to apply the Lean product development principles and practices to their existing system to make improvements. Often, this approach adds more work and confusion without examining what has caused the performance problems. They are imposing different rules to follow rather than engage their organization for continuous improvement.

This workshop takes a different approach: It uses a problem solving-continuous improvement approach to improve the performance issues of product development.
