Le Chi Quan joined Toyota Motor Vietnam in 1995 as one of the first eight engineers assigned to study the Toyota Production System at Toyota’s headquarters in Japan. Returning to Vietnam, Quan was assigned to manage production for the start-up of Toyota Motor Vietnam production operations. After eight years experience with Toyota Motor Vietnam, Quan began offering lean manufacturing consulting services in 2003.
Quan has supported several companies to implement lean in areas such as total productive maintenance, spare part management, frontline managers training, value stream mapping, organization restructuring, policy deployment and KPI target system, cost reduction activity, and others. In addition to manufacturing companies, Quan also consults with service organizations, including health care. Quan is the Vietnam representative for two leading American lean consulting organizations, the TWI Network, Inc. and the Lean Transformations Group, LLC. Quan is also Director of P&Q Kaizen Centre, a Vietnamese lean consulting company.
Quan obtained BS in Automobile Engineering from The Technology Institute of the Army in Czechoslovakia. While at Toyota, Quan was selected to attend the highly selective TPS trainer course. Quan speaks English, Japanese, Czech and Vietnamese and is based in Hanoi.
